Patti co-founded PacStates Communications in 1986. At the beginning, she was primarily responsible for the warehouse, inventory and dispatch. Since then, Patti has been closely involved in every aspect of the business. While her responsibilities as owner extend across the entire company, Patti focuses much of her attention on the creation and delivery of unsurpassed customer service.
Michael W. Buis
Michael has been with PacStates since 1991 and brings over 34 years of telecommunications experience to his role as chief executive officer and managing partner. He became responsible for the company’s administration, operations and sales as CEO since 2006 after working in a sales position with the company for more than twenty-five years.
He earned undergraduate and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Purdue University and has earned sales and technical certifications from ShoreTel, NEC and Allworx. Michael is an active volunteer in the Northern Nevada community. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Better Business Bureau of Northern Nevada, Board of Directors and Chairman for the Reno Rodeo as well as Past President and board of the Great Reno Balloon Race.
Mike works with the PacStates sales and operations teams to ensure an unsurpassed customer experience. He joined the company in 2009, bringing deep experience in the development and management of sales and operations teams for a major technology manufacturer and as a partner in an office equipment dealership.
He is active in business organizations including The Chamber, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada and WIN. He served as president of his Kiwanis Club and has been honored as Kiwanian of the Year. Mike studied at California State University, Fullerton, and Orange Coast College.
Bryan has been an integral part of our technical team since 1989, and became PacStates’ Operations Manager in 2016. He has over thirty years’ industry experience and is responsible for providing unmatched customer service.
Jon relies on more than two decades of experience as he assists clients to determine the best possible solutions for their data and telecommunications needs. Jon then works closely with the PacStates engineering staff to design, implement and support the delivery of excellent solutions. Before joining PacStates in 2009, Jon was self-employed in the printer and copy business.
He studied at UCLA and College of the Redwoods. Jon is active in the spirit music program of Summit Christian Church.
Ryan works closely with clients to deliver top-quality solutions on VoIP, key system, PBX and fiber-optic, and cabling projects. He joined PacStates in 1999 and worked as a senior technician before assuming sales responsibilities. Ryan earned an associate’s degree in electronics from Truckee Meadows Community College, where he also worked as an instructor’s assistant.
Ryan is presently working on his Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Certification.
With more than 40 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Dave is the resident expert at PacStates in handling clients’ needs for integrated voice and data infrastructure.
His philosophy is straightforward: The customer’s needs are primary. Meet or beat time constraints. Ensure that all jobs are done well. Before joining PacStates, Dave was in business for himself.
His expertise includes radio communications, telemetry, fire alarm and security systems, video surveillance, digital control, acoustics, audio and video design, network cabling and fiber optics. He has earned numerous consolidated certifications.
Nancy started her extensive telecom carrier in 1980 working for Rolm and IBM. She joined PacStates in 1996 and is responsible for project management, end-user interface, training of customer end users and administrators, and global customer care follow-up.
Cynthia White brings more than 13 years of customer experience to her role as dispatch manager at PacStates. She is responsible for managing incoming client calls and coordinating with technical staff to ensure clients and new customers receive prompt and quality service.
Joseph brings extensive and deep experience to his role as customer service representative and trainer for client end-users and administrators. His years of technical training experience prepares him to excel. Joseph worked three years for Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center IT before joining PacStates.
Patty manages all service and support agreements for our clients. She works with the sales, service, and administrative teams to make sure the best and most cost effective services are in place. Prior to PacStates, Patty worked in the medical administration field.
Chris provides highly professional installation and service of customer networks. He’s skilled and certified with Mitel, SysAdmin, Cisco (CCNA), Sonicwall, Adtran, Cabling, Wireless Networks, Network engineering, VMWare, and system design. Currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in computer science, Chris showed his dedication to excellence early in life when he earned recognition as an Eagle Scout.
Reed specializes in programming and installation of NEC, and legacy systems. A member of the PacStates team since 2005, Reed has served in the telecommunications industry since 1990. His previous experience includes work as a manager and technician with Unicom Communications. He mentors staff and is an integral part of the support team.
Jay specializes in and is lead technician for installation of cable, fiber and equipment-room infrastructure. He has worked for PacStates since 2005 and has more than 26 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Before he joined PacStates, Jay was the owner of an electrical company.
Colette, joined PacStates in 2011and is responsible for the company’s accounting functions, payroll and human resources. A native of Northern Nevada, Colette earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She has more than 25 years’ experience in accounting, data and financial analysis, payroll and human resource management.
Catherine provides invaluable assistance to the administration of PacStates and ensures that records are readily available so that the company can quickly meet the needs of its customers. She has worked with PacStates since 2005. Previously, she held positions with Washoe Medical Center and Sierra Kids.
Chrissie brings wide experience to her role as Telco administrator for PacStates since 2009. She is a consistent liaison between the client, Carrier Services, and telco providers. Prior to PacStates she worked 30 years with Nevada Bell, SBC and AT&T.
Steve has been with PacStates since early 2015. He started as a cabling technician and was promoted to warehouse manager in 2017. In an on-demand world that has clients waiting, Steve ensures that PacStates’ warehouse and service vehicles are properly stocked to quickly and efficiently meet the needs of customers.
Tyler provides expert installation of network cabling and works closely with both the client and PacStates’ operations department to provide the best possible results and meet the client’s needs. Tyler joined PacStates with a background in cabling and general maintenance, previously working at TD Desert Development in La Quinta, CA.
Thomas joined PacStates early 2018 with multi-site Mitel Connect VoIP and IT experience. He is responsible for helpdesk and Tier 1 and 2 support to our onsite voice and data clients.
Josh joined PacStates in early 2012 and is a telecommunications and Cable/Fiber-Certified Technician. Mr. Masterson specializes in installation of NEC key systems, cable, fiber and equipment-room infrastructure.
Steven joined PacStates in early 2016 and is a Cable/Fiber-Certified Technician. Mr. Gallinetti brings a specialization in installation of cable, fiber and equipment-room infrastructure. He has proven to lead a crew to provide on time and under budget projects.
Pierce works with the PacStates Sales Team, as a product specialist creating solutions, for customers with new and evolving businesses. He has a background in technical sales and is able to help clients find the best products and services to fit their needs.
Before joining the PacStates team, Pierce worked in the digital services field and provided design/consulting services in the custom photo-voltaic industry. Despite his questionable choice to grow a mustache, the PacStates Team offered him a position in 2019.
